Tinsel Tree Freebie!

It's time for a new Freebie charted design to celebrate the holiday season!  I hope this little tree will remind you of old fashioned trees strung with shiny metal tinsel and decorated with big Shiny-Brite ornaments.

You can download the chart for this design for free from my website, just click HERE.  You'll find the thread and bead key on the chart, and here are the particulars about how I stitched mine:

I used an 18 count canvas, the color is white opalescent.  The threads are all stitched with 1 strand.  This tree is made up of individual branch-shaped motifs.  The chart is for tree a bit smaller than my model in the photo, so that it is easier to read.  To make a tree as large as mine, (approx. 4" x 4") continue to add rows of branch stitches until your tree is 12 branch stitches wide along the bottom. Your darker thread is for the small "fill-in" stitches in between the branches.  The tree trunk is centered on the bottom row.

The sequins and beads are all attached with a 15mm silver color seed bead, and they should be attached after all the stitching has been completed, using your preferred beading thread.  The star at the top is a layer of the star sequin, a red sequin, a silver sequin and a bead.  On the tree, the red dot is a red sequin layered with a silver sequin and a bead.  The grey dot is a single silver sequin and a bead.  The gray rectangle is a bugle bead that is attached in between some branches.

Be sure to refer to the photo as well as the chart while stitching, and do email me if you have any questions.  Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season!

Stitched Up Friday!!

I've seen some great EyeCandy stitches lately and can't wait to show them to you, and hopefully show them again once they've made their way back home from the finisher!

Firstly, the Witch House from my "Pretty Spooky" collection, beautifully stitched by Pamela E.  The stitch choices here are fantastic!

And speaking of fantastic stitch choices, how about my Argyle Pumpkin (Teal color way) stitched by Mary A? I cannot decide which area I like best, but the argyle area in particular is AMAZING!

Last but not least is my Fox Star stitched by Amy O.  That stripe background is great, but I am loving the tree stitch especially, it's perfect!

New Freebie for Halloween, Fall & All!

Here's a new free project for you that I hope you'll enjoy!  I wanted to design something for those cute clear acrylic purses that are so popular now.  I wanted it to be seasonal, since it's so easy to change out the canvas in these purses, you can make a canvas for every occasion! This one is themed for Halloween, but you can easily customize it for Fall or Thanksgiving.  Another idea that I'd love to see you try is pick your own favorite colors and stitch your initials where the buttons are currently placed.  I can't wait to see what you'll do with this one!

Some additional info on my version, the Jack O Lantern and Candy Corns are buttons are from Susan Clarke Originals, to see her website click HERE.

The chart for this design is on my website, click HERE. You'll find some other free designs there too!

Finally, the details: I used 18 count Sandstone canvas, all threads used are a single strand.  The design stitches out to 4" x 7", which seems to be the standard size for these purses.
