Wait, Easter is Over, Right??

Well, yes it is, so shame on me for not getting this extremely cute finish of my Easter Collage canvas posted BEFORE the holiday!  This was stitched by Janice and the photo is courtesy of those great gals over at Pocket Full of Stitches

Canvas of the Week: EasterTowne Green

Although Easter is now over, I still couldn't resist featuring this design for this week.  EasterTowne Green is both an Easter canvas and a Welcome Spring design, especially this year after the long winter we've had.  It's a really fun stitch for anyone who enjoys whimsical nature scenes as I do.  Happy Spring!

Another Peeky Kitty Retrospective

While it is not my all time best selling canvas, I think my "Peeky Kitty" canvas must be the most stitched, as I have featured it here on the blog more than any other canvas.  With two new additions to show, I thought it was time for another retrospective.

Here is the newest addition, stitched by Rachel Grossman and finished as a sweet easel back:

So cute!  I love the trim and the background stitch.

Similarly, here is another finished as a hardback ornament, this one from Rittenhouse Needlepoint:

The second newest to the group is this really creative version stitched by Linda of the blog Split the Needles, from a Susan Portra stitch guide:

The addition of a border of beaded fish just blows me away!  Love it!

This is a version that I spotted on my own, "in the wild" at Aristeia Needlepoint, and snapped a photo with my cell phone.  Who says a small canvas can't be made into a lavish bolster pillow?  I love the touch of purple they added to the background too.

Last but certainly not least is possibly my favorite rendition of all, Vicky De Angelis's own version, with super-cute fish background:

There you have them as of today's date.  If you have any you would like to add to this collection, please do send them my way.  I may have to get on the bandwagon and stitch this one myself!   Happy Stitching!

Stitching Games Update-- the March Clue

Last month was a typical one for me when it comes to the Stitching Games over on Stitcherie-- I completed my clue late in the evening on March 31st, coming in among the very last to get my clue stitched for that month.  Better late than never though, and having a deadline is essential for a procrastinator like me!  The clue for March was "Time Warp", which put many of us in mind of the song from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.  With the Rocky Horror association, it wasn't hard for me to connect my two spooky flower faces with a certain character from the movie-- you see the resemblance, right?  :)

I used an Ecru color Vineyard Silk to Basketweave the faces, stitching the face details in with FyreWerks and making the eyes with layers of sequins and beads.  Fast and fun!

The clue for this month is "bacon".  It will be fun to see what those with canvases with no element of food whatsoever will come up with.  For me, Ms. Literal, I will most likely be doing something with the cauldron and the brew bubbling inside.  I will of course post a photo when done, but naturally, don't expect it until around April 30th! :)
