New Stitch Guides Available!

I have not had as much time to stitch since taking over production and distribution of my canvases back in 2015, so it is pretty seldom nowadays that I can announce any new stitch guides by me.  I have had a handful of finishes aver the last year, and finally made some time to write and publish the stitch guides for them.  Since they are older designs, you may already have the canvas and if so, write me an email and I'll be happy to send you the guide.  From this point on, these canvases will include the guide when you see them in a retail shop.

Here are the 5 new stitch guide designs:

H110A Pink Plaid Heart:  This guide I cannot take full credit for, because I discovered this canvas for sale online in mostly-stitched condition.  I simply completed it, the stitches were the choice of an unknown and very talented stitcher.  My contributions were the addition of the sequins, which are included with the stitch guide.

HW114E Vintage Witch Candy Pail: Although there is already a wonderful stitch guide for this and the other 5 candy pails in this series by Cynthia Thomas, I had already started stitching this one on my own and decided to make a guide for my version.  This canvas will now come with 2 guides!

C112-13 "Cats-tooth": Although this canvas is stitched entirely in Basketweave and it did not strictly speaking need a stitch guide,  I did make one for this listing the threads, colors and color placement since it is not stitched exactly as it is painted.

C110 Cats-tooth Keychain: Ditto the above on this one, the guide will provide you the threads used and a short guide to the Basketweave stitch.

C110A Black Cat Keychain: Trust me on this one that it is more complex than the photo can show (just like with a real black cat, LOL!) The background is a fun woven type stitch with silk & metallic and so are the eyes.  Fun and quick to stitch!

New Stitch Monday With Ridgewood Needlepoint!

Ridgewood Needlepoint has one of the very best Needlepoint blogs on the web today, showcasing new canvases, great finishing and each Monday a new Needlepoint stitch!  I am so thrilled to have one of my geometric canvas designs, "Tropical Maze" featured for the latest "New Stitch Monday" series.

I'm also really happy they are using this design to showcase small but fun stitches.  I am always a little stumped for a small stitch that is also interesting and dynamic.  I can seldom even think of more than a handful of small stitches, so I think this series will become a great reference for those of us who want to add to our library of smaller stitches.

Here is the link to the blog: https://ridgewoodneedlepoint.com/2021/03/new-stitch-monday-fun-stitches-for-small-areas/     Add their great blog to your reading list so you can follow it regularly, they have a fun new post nearly every day!

Spooky Star Club is Wrapping Up!

How time does fly!  Seems so soon to be saying goodbye to another club, but the 5th star in the Spooky Star club is shipping out this month! This ornament features a cute but scary witch house, based on the fairy tale about Baba Yaga's house that stood on chicken legs!  If you've never read this one you are in for a treat as it is both funny and scary!

And the Winner Is...

The winner for possibly the best background stitch EVER is Donna F. with this great heart pattern adorning my "No Place Like Home" canvas:

And this one wins the "best background in a needlepointing photo" award!  This is my favorite picture ever!  If Polly V. did not take home a prize from the fair for either her pig or her needlepoint I hope she'll take mine as a consolation prize!  The canvas is my Pink Punkin Halloween Cottage, available with kit and stitch guide from Chandail.

Some Great New Stitches!

People have been busy stitching bees this summer so far, here are some great stitches of my canvases, soon to be on their way to the finishers:

Paula B. stitched this fabulous rendition of Pirate Mermaid, doesn't it look great?

Andrea A. completed her CandyLand Christmas so quickly I could hardly believe my eyes!  Love the background stitches on this one!

Barb W. gets a ton of stitching done while she travels, she just completed one of the designs from my Stitch a Falling Star club:

I'm sneaking in a stitched and finished one too, this is one of my Thistle Hill ornaments stitched by Ann T.:
