A Good Week For Finishes!

Some really great finishing photos today, it's been a prolific week for EyeCandy!

This one is courtesy of Jermies Needlepoint, and it is my favorite, because it is so different!!  This is my Vintage Skull Halloween Pail, but stitched in orange, who would have thought? I love it, I may have to stitch it again like this one!

Here's the original-- so different!  The orange color totally works on this though!

Rachel G. just got my Hoot Owl Trio back from New Creation Picture Framing and it is amazing!

Sherrin E.'s Caribbean Waves ornament is back from TJ's Finishing, love it!

Love this finish, also by TJ's, of my Stars N' Stripes canvas:

Not the only one of my stars to be finished by TJ's lately, here's Susan B.'s Halloween Star:

Holiday Potpourri

What else could I title a a blog post that has both July 4th and Easter stuff in the middle of September? That's one of the cool things about needlepoint,  everything is in season all the time!

Ruth announced a couple weeks back that my Easter Bunny Collage canvas now has a stitch guide by Julia Snyder herself!  Please, please, someone out there get to stitching this, I am dying for a model to show off!  Just look at those threads, you know know you want to order this kit right now!

Case in point, here is the kit for my Stars N' Stripes canvas that Ruth made a stitch guide for last year.  Several of you succumbed to temptation and got started stitching!

And now look, I have this fantastic finished model stitched by Catherine to show off to you today:

Makes all the difference to see it stitched, right? Always nice to see it finished or framed too, but heck, I'm not picky about that!

Alright, enough nagging, I'll let you get back to stitching now. Until next time, Happy Stitching!

Summer Stitching

Hi all!  Hope everyone had a fantastic July 4th weekend!  In keeping with the season and summer stitching, I'd like to share some of my summer holiday canvases and some fantastic stitching and finishing.

This is my "Uncle Sam's Happy Fourth" canvas.  It's part of a set of four designs all built around the major holidays.

The cutie pie below is "Sammy", who was last year's Summer Challenge canvas over on Stitcherie.  The group had so much fun stitching him, and everyone really made their canvas their own with lots of great personal touches.  This is Judy Gartman's Sammy-- she used such great stitches and her finished banner is so summery!

Palma Seljan's Sammy is also very fabulous, I love the buttons and the multi-color beach blanket!  Note each canvas has touches of "Ada's Rainbow" from Gloriana silks, my signature color.  Part of the challenge criteria was to use that color somewhere on the canvas.  Both ladies met that challenge very well!

This is "Stars N'Stripes", stitched by Judy Furie.  She and I both love glitz, I love all the beads, sequins and metallics she used here!

Last but not least is my Patriot Owl, part of the Hoot! Hoot! series.  This one is beautifully stitched and photographed by Angie Laube.  Note her matching magnet too!  Nice work Angie!

Hope this gets you in the mood for some summertime stitchin'!  Until next time, stay cool and stitch on!

Halloween Ornaments

A while back, I painted a set of four Halloween teardrop-shaped ornaments inspired by the Christmas themed ones I had done for my first club series, Tickled Pink.  They feature motifs that had first appeared on my Halloween Sampler series and each has it's own color scheme.  I stitched the Black Cat ornament to serve as a model for the set:

More recently, Judith Furie stitched the other three designs in the set, choosing amazing stitches and threads for each.  Here is the Jack-O-Lantern ornament:

Isn't this great?  She did Basketweave Beading for the pumpkin, plus found a way to add both color and sparkle to even the teeniest rows!

The Witch Hat ornament-- again, just fabulous thread color selection and beads for the center motif:

The threads Judy selected for the Bat ornament are just mouth-watering aren't they??

She also added a bit of dimension to this one with ruched RibbonFloss for the black and white borders.

Did you notice also that she hardly repeated any thread or stitch?  Judy is always so creative, plus you can count on great color, sparkle and bling!  Remember my Summer Stitching post from last July?  That was Judy again with my Stars 'N' Stripes canvas.  Keep 'em coming Judy, we love what you do!

Can you believe Halloween is tomorrow night?  I can't, mostly because I still have two full bags of candy that have not yet even been opened!  Usually by this time I've had to purchase a replacement bag (or two.)  Guess I really have been busy!  Next time I hope to have a new Halloween piece to share with you.  In the meantime, I hope you have a very Happy Halloween!
