Destination Dallas!

The Destination Dallas wholesale trade show is this weekend and I will be attending for the first time as a vendor!  I am pretty nervous and excited as well!  I have a few new things to show off there, here's a peek at them now:

Birdcage Heart is a painted canvas with stitch guide, the photo really does not convey just how sparkly it really is!

Meadowlark Cuff Bracelet in May/June Needlepoint Now

Meadowlark Cuff, the latest in my series of cuff bracelets for Needlepoint Now magazine appears in the current issue, which should already be on its way to your mailboxes and local shops.  Here are are some detail photos for you to help you along the way to stitching it! 

This is the completed design, flat and before finishing:

This is a detail of the crystal filagree embellishments.  It seems that Swarovski has discontinued the filagree in the center motif.  The round ones are still available and you could easily add one of those to the center, or substitute any pretty "sparkly" of your choosing that fits the space.  

Here is  a detail post-finishing, showing how the snap closures are added into the decorative Square Jessica stitches on the ends:

Winter Waterfall Bracelet in the January 2015 Issue of Needlepoint Now

I have been a little remiss on telling you all about my latest design in Needlepoint Now magazine, Winter Waterfall.  It is the latest in my series of cuff bracelets and this one has a distinctively frosty winter feel.  

It utilizes one of my all time favorite techniques, Bargello!  So fun and so quick to stitch and of course, it sparkles too!  Lots of FyreWerks metallics and I added a touch of Swarovski crystal bling as well.  Here is a detail photo of the design while it was still under construction:

New Cuff Bracelet Design for Needlepoint Now-- Witches' Familiars

My newest design for Needlepoint Now is officially available!  This is the second in a series of cuff bracelet designs that I started with the Tropicana Cuff.  This is a Halloween theme that can easily be adapted to any theme you would like-- your favorite holiday or hobby or color, a perfect piece to use that special color thread or embellishment that you've been looking to showcase.  I hope you'll have fun experimenting with this design.  Be sure to send me a picture of what you come up with so I can showcase it here!

Introducing a New Design-- Tropicana Cuff Bracelet!

I am proud to present my latest design for Needlepoint Now magazine, a cuff-style bracelet that I have named "Tropicana" for its warm and vibrant color scheme. However, this design is highly adaptable, so you could easily pick your own color scheme-- how about Sonoran? Aquatic? Preppy, maybe?  The sky's the limit!  You can find the instructions for this design in the current May/June 2014 issue.

As always, I like to show more detailed project photos here on my blog, and I hope they will be both helpful and inspirational.  Here is a close up of the design, before finishing and flat:

And here again, post-finishing.  I added a trim of extra large metallic rick-rack along the edges.  Although I did finish this myself, unless you are an extremely confident self-finisher, I highly recommend sending this project out to a professional, it will greatly enhance the style options and the wearability.

For the clasp/closure of my bracelet, I experimented with using a needle magnet, which I think worked well.  Plus it is another way to show off the fantastic bling in our magnet collections, right?  This great "Smiley" magnet is a prize I won in the Stitching Games last year over on Stitcherie!
